Consumer Vibe coding is sending data to external databases IT can’t control

Employees are bringing in consumer AI app builders into the enterprise without IT approval. They are connecting sensitive data, generating apps, and storing company information in external platforms and databases that IT cannot govern.

That means PII, PHI, customer data, credentials, and internal workflows can leave the enterprise perimeter with no audit trail, no access controls, and no clear path to recovery when an employee leaves.

With AI models becoming more cyber capable and supply chain attacks accelerating, the risk is no longer theoretical. The next major enterprise data leak may not come from a sanctioned system. It may come from an app someone vibe coded in a tool IT never approved.

Introducing App Database on Your AWS RDS

Superblocks gives AWS customers a secure, in-VPC database foundation for enterprise vibe coding.

Customers can make AWS RDS their default application database, keep data inside their AWS account. IT centrally configures and governs the database, while Superblocks automatically creates the tables Builders need as they prompt applications into existence.

This unlocks safe use cases like turning spreadsheets into governed apps, storing workflow-specific metadata, and creating new operational applications. All without sending data to external databases or locking customers into a proprietary backend.

Isolation and Promotion: Dev and Production

Unlike consumer vibe coding platforms that often reuse the same logical database across development and production, creating the risk of AI agents corrupting live data or schemas, Superblocks provides isolated Dev and Production environments by default.

As applications are promoted, Superblocks automatically manages the associated database schema migrations between environments. Production data and schemas are never changed until a Builder is certified to deploy and the application has passed all required policy checks.

Because this is centrally configured by IT, Superblocks manages the infrastructure, database isolation, and schema migration process automatically. Builders can safely create and iterate on applications without needing to understand databases, environments, or schema migrations.

Rollback safely

When a rollback is triggered, Superblocks restores not only the application code, but also the database schema and database state to the selected point in time. This is critical for vibe coding workloads, where the application, its data model, and its operational state need to move together as one version-controlled system.

Complete RDS Customization for Cost and Performance Optimization

Builders get a simple experience, while IT retains full control over infrastructure, cost, security, and operational standards. Admins can configure whether apps run on isolated RDS instances or shared instance pools per environment.

In addition, IT can centrally manage the core AWS configuration, including engine version, instance size, storage, networking, encryption, backups, and maintenance windows.

Why not Replit, Lovable, or Base44?

"Those tools are great for proof of concept. But they don't connect well to existing enterprise data sources, and they don't have the governance guardrails that IT requires for production use."
