Growing Claude bills are causing buyers to set up cost controls for all AI spend.

Recently, Uber's COO revealed they burned through their entire 2026 AI budget in four months, on Claude Code alone. Boardrooms are now facing a dual mandate: drive AI adoption fast, and don't blow the budget doing it.

Enterprise vibe coding is the holy grail for employee productivity, giving non-technical employees the ability to generate software that automates core tasks. But employee-wide adoption demands employee-wide controls. IT Admins and their Finance counterparts need fine-grained spend management built into the platform from day one.

The Future: Native Spend Controls at the User and Model Layers

Superblocks is committed to giving customers flexibility and choice to decide on intelligence and cost. Our goal is to put Admins in the driver’s seat so they can decide what is best for their organization based on real budgetary constraints and ROI goals. The pillars are:

  • Spend Management: Set usage budgets and notifications for specific users, teams, applications, or across your org
  • Model Choice (Coming soon): Choose your model based on cost and intelligence per task
  • Intelligent routing (Coming soon):  Automatically have Superblocks choose the best provider for a task, only requiring the latest frontier model for intelligence-bound tasks

Today we launch the first pillar of this roadmap enabling admins to control spend across their organization.

Introducing Spend Management for Vibe Coding on Superblocks

Superblocks gives Admins the ability to limit AI credits on a per-user basis. Admins can start by setting a default limit across the org. This is initially useful for an initial org-wide rollout as it sets a limit in place for new builders as they come online across your organization.

Since different departments may have different budgets and this helps you roll out and govern centrally. Admins can measure success and grant increased limits on-demand as they see fit. The ability to set custom spend limits by the builder is key to managing spend across 100s or 1,000s of employees and teams.

Proactive Spend Notifications

Admins also can set spend notifications so if the organization hits a soft limit they are notified early and can take action prior to any hard limits being hit. The notifications system is flexible based on limits and % of budgets or % over and under.

MCP for Spend Management

Superblocks Admin MCP can be used by your agent of choice to analyze spend base don users, time and applications. And in the future all billing events will be tagged even more granularly so that task and type can be segmented further to gain an understanding of where spend is going and which teams, users and apps are delivering real ROI.

Why not Replit, Lovable, or Base44?

"Those tools are great for proof of concept. But they don't connect well to existing enterprise data sources, and they don't have the governance guardrails that IT requires for production use."
